Day 2
Cloudy today (nothing new there then) and we are off to Blackpool. The riviera of the north.
I’m being moaned at coz I’m working when I should be on holiday, they don’t realise I need the break that a PC offers from the constant meaningless chatter that is rife over here. Home and Away isn’t a patch on this place.
So we arrive in Blackpool and it’s shut.
The Tower is shut, Harry Ramsdons is shut, the beach is shut not a tram in site even after several circuits of the promanade. Barring a few drunks in the penny arcades the place looked like the aftermath of a nuclear attack. Dark, raining so we headed home and got lost.
Well there’s no point asking this southerner the way, you live here. So we head for the motorway and just like the singing bears, there are lots of signposts but where’s the damn motorway. Another roundabout and a sign post, then ‘ping’ what’s that??? Ah we are low on petrol, better find a garage, more rain, more road Ahhhhhh the motorway.
Must be a services soon! ‘Don’t accelerate’ David screams into Graemes ear, ‘keep yout speed constant’. We changed drivers in Blackpool, they like to share. We found a services and filled up, with snacks that is and we put some petrol in. 2 Chocolate oranges, 6 packets of crisps, 2 pepperami’s and large snickers bars were amonst the bootie.
We were only 20 mins from home and had a restaurant booked for tonight, but the boys needed a snack.
Oh, I forgot to tell you David and Graeme are partners and are (how can I put it) a bit fat. 26 stone and 24 stone at least (later pictures will prove as evidence) and we now had to discuss what to do this evening.
Anyway, we drove to Crewe and went to bingo
I won £12 on the computer game in the interval, David shared a line £5 and Graeham won the National. But he only won the house prize of £115 but it covered the night and paid for the Indian later.
It was funny because Graeham had an itchy hand all day and Rita was saying it was money coming in and he would win at bingo and he did.
So, I am spending my holiday with 2 fat gays and a witch.
Must go now, but speaking of witches, tonight we’re off to see the wizzard, the wonderful wizzard of Oz.
That’s right, we’ve got tickets to The Wizzard of Oz. We are going to a Christmas fare first, I’m sure we’ll get a bite to eat, LOL and then off to see Dorothy
Stay tuned for a full review tomorrow
