‘Mad’ MARTY WILSON

‘Mad’ Marty Wilson

Marty Wilson (born 1957 ?) is a professional poker player from Wolverhampton but is also a tournament director and what he doesn’t know about the rules poker hasn’t been invented yet. His nickname originates from when, as a teenager, he escaped several rival football fans by jumping into a polar bear pit whilst being chased through the zoo. His extensive career dates back to an early WSOP visit in 1985. However he first gained public notoriety by finishing runner-up in the £300 Pot Limit Hold-Em event at the Victoria Casino in London. He went on to become a regular on the Late Night Poker television series, being one of few players to appear in every series. His constant banter and ability to make up any rubbish for pure entertainment is second to none and he uses his unique talent to easy anxious new players into the day and helps calm their nerves before sitting in front of the cameras for the first time. He nevers stops all day and brings a smile on everyone faces. Back in the hotel and with a captive audience, he is in his elliment and the lines roll off his tongue bringing his unrivaled style not only to the players and staff but also to those innocent patrons that just happen to be in the right place at the right time. Amazing entertainment from the voice of Wolves during the 888 Poker Open is something that will stay with you forever.
